Honorable Fire Socks

These socks by Jill Jillsknit were made for her SIL, the fire captain. They had to be tall tall tall to wear with fireboots, and they're a lovely rib.
Jill used Maizy Maizy colors
more details here... including so many pretty - er handsome -cat pics ! i need to post some pics of my own menagerie!

Jill's just lost her mom recently, and as i lost mine in Jan, i do understand that empty feeling...
but also lately am having fun rediscovering a lot of mom's great recipes!

0-6 Mo Free baby sock pattern

Adorable Ian again, in his cute panda soy baby socks (color is Cocoa Mint) .

Also shown here are the same socks in Maizy Earth color.

and now you can knit the free pattern Crystal Palace Baby Socks

by the way - Ian in the photo is 15 pounds and 5 mo old... grandma Beth, member of the Crystal Palace Knit-Team, said that the socks were perfect as there was even a little "room to grow".

blessings, :L

ps the pattern is designed for fingering-wt sock yarns, such as Panda Soy, Maizy, Panda Cotton,
and i think Panda Wool and Panda Silk [knitting those now]. You can easily knit it with #2 us needles, or #1.5 depending on what you need for gauge.
remember, babies don't walk! so their socks don't have to be super-dense to stand wear...
just need to be adorable!

............. hmmm. the socks could be plain - the babies are the adorable ones!

blessings, :L

ps there is also a pretty lacey panda silk baby sock on the site at www.straw.com - free patterns!

May news!! New Kits coming!

What do i have OTN: "on the needles"?
I am doing another version of the sock in these exciting new kits!!

These are pics of the NEW Crystal Palace kits called "Crazy8".
This one is Panda Wool, and is my own knit.
This is a picture of Samantha's model in Panda Cotton.
And this is a picture of Beth's knit model also using Panda Wool.

The plan is to make kits with Panda Cotton, Panda Wool, Maizy, and later Panda Soy!!

The kits will include 5 Crystal Palace DPN plus and 1 full skein of the MC, and enough of 4-5 coordinated colors wound off to make ANY woman's size, and a man's small-to-medium size!!

And i promise it is fun fun fun!!

Marnie's Corn on the Nod

This is just an A-Maize-ing hat! LOL, seriously, just lovely.

This amazing hat was knit with 2 different methods of double-knitting by Marnie McLean - using 2 colors of Maizy.MarnieMcLean

I especially like the two colors she chose, and am busily doing a sock with them, which i will show soon.
But honestly, Marnie's hat outshines my sock.
Be sure and look through this blog as IMHO she has real talent and a lovely "take" on things!

Monogrammed Maizy by Agnes

Ok, you have to go to knittinginthevalley

to see more about these gorgeous socks Agnes knit for her DH with Maizy Crystal Palace Yarns

I think he looks like a quarterback here- fast on his feet and graceful too!
and look how well the socks fit!

then there's the monogram - i think it's brilliant, but not so sure i'd have the courage to
do it, unless perhaps i'd done it before and practiced.

i once did some monogrammed pillow-cases for my mom's birthday, but that was embroidery
on high count linens, so i think knitting would be different to sew on.

i haven't seen my DH dancing in his socks... this is something i will watch for next time i knit them !!
